i had occasion to see a vid tape made in 1991 of b. moyers interviewing
Oren Lyons in his cabin on the Onondaga Nation in upstate NY. moyers
interrupted much too much, but even so, Oren Lyons words, wisdom and
awareness came thru very powerfully for me. does anyone know of a way
to subscribe to a newsletter that was mentioned called "Daybreak" that
Oren Lyons apparently puts out? also, does anyone know of any cassette
tapes of him speaking, or other articles, books, etc. that he has written?
i know the written word cannot communicate the vivid feelings and ideas
that Chief Lyons mentions is only possible via the Oral Tradition, but
hearing him as i was able to, makes me so hungry for more. perhaps
someone at least knows of an address that i can write to that can reach
someone/anyone of the Onondaga Nation?
many wanx for any sugs, tips, ideas, pointers.
[ The address of DAYBREAK is P.O. Box 315, Williamsville, NY 14231. The
annual subscription rate, as of Spring, 1989, is $12.00. Back issues
are available. --Gary ]
