Child rearing practises

I am working at the University Affiliated Program at UNM, Albuquerque, and
a question has been brought up about culturally relevant materials regarding
Native American child rearing practises. Knowing that there is such a
diversity of tribes, as well as child rearing practises, we would like
information about different tribes and child rearing. The purpose is to
help evaluators of children with disabilities from birth to three years
old. These evaluators are all anglos and they would like information about
toilet training, walking, etc. for kids from differnt tribes. If
anyone could direct me to some NATIVE resources, rather than anglo
resources, or people, I would appreciate it. The tribes mostly involved
here are Mescalero Apache, the Eastern Pueblos, Zuni, and some Navajo.

Thanks a lot, Judy Schwartz.
