I am a member of the Chickahominy Tribe and our people spoke Algonquin.
Unfortunately, we have no written records or no living Tribal members who
can speak it. I was told that there was a Chickahominy member who spoke
it, but that was 3 generations ago.
Our Tribe is 1 of 8 Tribes indigenous to Virginia. I would be very happy
to know if there are any books or people that may help me in this research.
I plan to check resources here (libraries, historical societies, etc.).
Any help would gladly be appreciated.
