According to a AP story in our local campus paper, their is no
indication when the 3-judge panel of the 8th U.S. circuit court of
appeals would hand down their ruling. I can scan in and post the
article if there is sufficient interest, but I think information from
the Peltier defense committee (based here in Lawrence, KS) would have
much better info than this story. I'm kinda waiting to receive a
report from them--hopefully they will post something here. I'm
cautiously optomistic, but I think the best the court could do is
reprimend (sp?) the case back to the district court. Personally, I
think we should all write Clinton and ask him to set a positive tone
for his new administration by granting Peltier executive clemency (or
a pardon, or whatever it's called)--that may be our best chance.
