A new and challenging opportunity exists with the Better
Beginnings Better Futures program and the Ontario Prevention
Clearinghouse. The Native Site Supervisor will influence the
integration of prevention services, and promote community
development for families with young children in 4 Native
communities on Reserve and 1 Native community off Reserve in
Ontario.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent program
supervisory skills. A knowledge of healthy child development,
family functioning, and community development on Reserve are
essential. Superior communication, analytical and negotiation
skills are needed, as is an ability to create a financial and
administrative framework and to contribute to the development of
data information systems.
An ability to liaise with and influence social agencies, Band
Councils, and government managers is also required.
We are seeking a candidate with a Master's degree or equivalent
experience in a field related to community services, children's
services, infant and/or child care programs. Knowledge of Native
language, history and culture is an asset.
This position is currently available 3 1/2 days per week, with the
possibility of full-time employment in the New Year. Salary
commensurate with qualifications and experience to a maximum of
$62,036 annually for a full-time position.
Location: Toronto preferred, with considerable provincial travel.
