I was closely associated with the "Graduate Certificate Program in
North American Indian Studies" at Rutgers University (under the anthropology
department). There is still a lot of political nonsense going on here, so I
would suggest you avoid it (although there are a lot of very brillient minds
here). I suggest that if you try to enter into any program, that you track
down a student in that program and ask him/her privately how it is. The only
other program that I looked into was the "North American Indian Religion"
program at Syracuse University.
