NativeNet back in operation

Well, things turned out a bit differently than I expected. I lost the
contents of my hard drive (all 65 megabytes worth) in moving it to an
external enclosure, since in my overconfidence I neglected to do a full
backup before attempting the operation. I've reconstructed most of
what I had with the aid of week old backups. The main thing is that
I've postponed the installation of the larger drive until later -
probably next weekend. That drive is nearly three times the size of
this one, so that with the two combined, I'll be in good shape for a
while, assuming that operation, which is rather tricky, goes well.

Anyway, again, I have to ask that anyone who requested to be added to
one of the non-LISTSERV lists (nn.lang, nn.innu, nn.hopi, nn.database,
etc.) during the past week please do so again (just send your request
directly to me).

On the Innu situation, there was an article in Sunday's _Boston_Globe_
on pages 62-63 ("_HYDRO_QUEBEC_: Innu traditionalists protest by blockade-
Project threatens culture, says chief" - By Judith Gaines Globe Staff).
If I can find the time in the next few days, I'll type in the article.

If anyone else gets information on this situation, please let us know
by sending to "nn.general@gnosys.svle.ma.us."

Thanks.

Gary
