[ I received a personal message concerning the recently-relayed articles
from the "Maoist Internationalist Movement" (mim@nyxfer.uucp) about
LISN and a few other subjects. I find myself of two minds about the
question of whether or not to pass on such material. I agree it is
extremely rhetorical, and that, at least in Peru, the Maoists are
definitely a terrorist movement. They may, in fact, be attempting to
co-opt the struggles of indigenous people. I would be grateful for
any additional messages expressing opinions of readers of this list.
Meanwhile, I will hold articles from that source. Thanks for your
help. --Gary (gst@gnosys.svle.ma.us) ]

How Wonderful! Another extremeist group to watch! I hope the "Maoists" do
a better job of "saving" Latin America than the SDS did of Saving California
& America .... out of the frying pan and into the fire .... If I sound a little
jaded, perhaps its because I was at UC Berkeley in the 60's and saw REALLY
good causes ignored and even trashed because of the obnoxiousness of this
ultra-liberal, ultra-left, organization and their lawless tactics. The end
result was that "mainstream people" who MIGHT have assisted and moved
mountains became adversaries rather than allies.

Tell me, are these righteous members of the Maoist Internationalist Movement
Indegenous Peoples themselves? Or are they just looking for a desperate
group of needy people to lead to the promised land? Are you truly saviors
or just another bunch of power mongers?
I hope the PEOPLE have the wisdom and vision to be able to see wolves in
sheeps clothing if you aren't a body of indegenous peoples just trying to
recover their country. I also hope there is a very powerful Angel up their
somewhere looking out for the naive "natives" who will keep them from being
used in someone's power game.

Concerned ...
