Hydro-Quebec issues a weekly summary of news stories pertaining to HQ. In
the most recent it mentioned the arrival of the peace-walkers in Montreal.
It said they were marching in response to a fraudulent press release sent
out in the U.S (presumably the one which appeared on this list some time ago)
and said the Innu had denied its content and called the people responsible
"frauds" or denounced them or something. I don't remember the language,
which is unfortunate because what HQ says is usually literally true but
grossly misleading.

Does anyone know what actually happened? Does anyone have any sense what the
relationship netween Tom Dostou and the Innu national leadership is?
Something seems slightly strange...

Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

[ I hope that when Peter d'Errico, who made the latest report returns from
an upcoming trip (unrelated to the Innu situation), he will be able to
find out additional details concerning the relationship of Tom Dosteau
to the Innu community, and why we have heard no more concerning the
earlier story that the Quebec Provincial Police (S.Q.) besieging the
village. If anyone else knows anything about these, or any other aspects
of the story, please send a followup article. Thanks. --Gary ]
