<What tapes do you have of singers and drummers? Actually, I have a lot
of different tapes from all over but my favorite are the Eagle Whistles,
Mandaree Singers, and the White Shield Singers. I also like Gordon Bird
and his family who record on Featherstone. Gordon's daughter is Jackie
Bird and she, along with the rest of her family, does some contemporary
Native American songs. I have to say my most favorite tape is by
the Ikceya Wicasa Singers called Spirit of Song (BU HLA HO ZO). It is
a tape one can listen to over and over again and still want to hear it
some more. You can order it with a booklet that contains the Lakota
words with English translation and a pronunciation tape. Or you can
just order the tape. It is available from Standing Rock College,
HC 1, BOX 4, FORT YATES, ND 58538, PHONE <701> 854-3861.
