Student and youth activist of the southwestern United States are
getting together to build common ground on social justice and
environmental issues. The gathering will consist of workshops,
discussion groups, and networking. The workshops and discussion
groups will cover urban, rural, tribal and boarder issues. The
conference will be organized through a cooperative effort by
students and youth.

Everyone coming to the Unity Conference this March will also
have the pleasure of experiencing Arcosanti. A city for 5,000,
contained on 15 acres of land and surrounded by 4,000 acres of
natural preserve. A walking city. A beautifully spacious
beehive for humans. No cars allowed.

Let's immediately bring this down to earth, though. At this
stage of the game, we've only completed about 3-5%. The center
or "heart" of the city is done, with all sorts of divine
passive-solar structures, hand-made in naked concrete with
designs in silt. These include some living and work areas
integrated with community kitchens, an amphitheater, music room,
small library and cafe.

As activists we need to obtain skills and refine the ones we
have. This is best done through education and acquiring
knowledge and experience from other people of action.

Please, consider what specific workshops you want to offer or
see offered, and let us know as soon as possible.
