I did my dissertation under Sharon Stephens who did hers at U of Chicago
on the Sami. I"m not sure if she is back yet from the field-- she is
studying the effects of Tchernoble on the Sami. I'd suggest contacting
her and looking at her dissertation-- it is quite comprehensive and
should lead you to all the classic sources.
