Hi
Just a short note to pass you the good news that this post set off a
medium-sized explosion at the Quebec legislature. I copied it & posted it on
the new continent-wide NATIVE-NET on Fido, & some reader who owns stock in
Quebec pulp & paper phoned the office of the minister of Native affairs,
Christos Sirros. It really hit the fan, apparently, cause next thing you know
they were phoning the band council office at Kahnawak (Mohawk Territory) as
the bbs I posted on is based there. The band office didn't have a clue what
they were talking about & the comedy just grew from there. The sysop of Igloo
Station, (the Fido NA-NET bbs in Kahnawak) was deluged with calls from Indian
affairs (federal), native affairs (provincial) and two french newspapers, all
wanting a copy of the post as well as info on how to get access to the NA-NET.
It turns out that the Quebec govt did not know that Indians are computer
literate & are now shopping for modems & training for their staff so that they
can monitor all Native bbs's. It will be even funnier when they try to post
propaganda & get devalidated.
Keep on keeping the bastards off balance..., & well done!
In Brotherhood...
