NEED HELP: Regarding other countries and ethnicity problems

I've been assigned a project for an international journalism class that
revolves around a country experiencing ethnicity problems. My first choice
was Lebanon, but my professor suggested it would be too extensive and too
intensive for the amount of time and space for this project. A sociology
friend suggested I focus on the Moskito Indians in Nicaragua (I might have
the wrong country here) and I recently read something about the indigenous
people in Gautamala. Since I just started thinking about this and haven't
come up with any solid ideas, I'd appreciate any suggestions. I'd like to
focus on indigenous people, but they must be from another country other than
the U.S. and I must be able to find current and old newspaper clippings
(i.e. any ethnicity problems must be current and published in either
newspapers, magazines or television). I would appreciate any suggestions
at all possible and any leads that would help me get started once I've
picked a country.

Thanks for your help,
