AMAZONIAN INDIAN MEETING
Havana, March 24 (RHC)- Native Americans: A meeting of some 400 Amazonian
Indian tribes began today in Quito, Ecuador.Representatives from the nine
Amazon basin countries are gatheering to make cooperation agreements between
the different tribes and to coordinate their political work. One of their main
objectives is to push for the demarkation and legalization of Indigenous lands
in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana, French Guyana,
and Surinam. The director of the Amazon's indigenous will also propose
environmental policies to preserve the Amazon's ecosystem
