Members of COUNCIL list (council@sjsuvm1.bitnet or council@sjsuvm1.sjsu.edu)
are calling on grassroots organizations, indigenous peoples, and committed
persons in all lands to submit letters of support and candidates for consider-
ation for a global council in East Africa, the evolutionary home of humanity. A
global council in East Africa would symbolize the essential sameness of human
beings everywhere, and the urgent need to confront the ecological, social,
economic, and political crisis of humankind as a whole. The proposal is for a
few hundred of the world's wisest people to meet regularly and think together
about the problems confronting humanity, and speak with one voice to national
governments and international organizations. Thus the global council will not
be a political organization but a symbolic and advisory association of
excellent human beings from all walks of life. Please send your ideas to
COUNCIL list, and a letter or fax to Mary Robinson, President of Ireland,
Aras an Uachtarain, Phoenix Park, Dublin 8, Ireland. Fax: 353-1-772815.
Thank you.
