NT ELECTION - ALTERNATIVE ACTION

NORTHERN TERRITORY ELECTION - PLACEMENT OF CREATIVE ENERGY TO
CREATE THE TYPE OF WORLD YOU WANT TO LIVE IN.

In his address to the Foreign Correspondents' Association,
Country-Liberal Party leader Marshall Perron has spelt out the
position he and his party represent. He is gearing up to be
the first Australian government to win an election based on
the rejection of the Mabo decision.

Do you vote for them? NO WAY! And the longer you sit back and
watch, the more it will happen, the longer your relatives
(distant parts of yourself) will suffer. Your surplus creative
energy is urgently required - no matter how small your
contribution, no matter where you live on this planet, it will
make a real difference.

A simple prayer to replace the vision in life's government in
Australia's Northern Territory will be a help, if you cannot
manage anything else. The NT has a population of about 200,000
people. Smaller than many cities. Little energies repay big
dividends.

How much longer will we have to keep the pretence up that the
Western Way is the only way? The well-being of people and
living country daily pay the real price for keeping up this
illusion.

The Northern Territory is going into election mode and will
thrash Mabo, racial stereotypes and blackfellows for every
inch they can get. It's a proven successful election strategy
in the NT.

Sending a message to the rest of Australia that this is not
the way to go is of global importance.

The NT is also presently debating a constitution for possible
future statehood. This is regarded in some quarters as being a
trial experiment with important consequences for the rest of
Australia. Turning the debate towards the recognition of a
living partnership (in life and its government) between First
People and Anglo-Australians is an objective of fundamental
importance.

To achieve both these objectives requires forming a coalition
of forces with the NT ALP opposition to bring in a long
overdue climate of change. (And yes, the ALP will attempt to
dominate this coalition. That will have to be dealt with on a
problem by problem basis later).

At this stage, it is important that we direct our attention
towards getting the CLP out of office this time. They have
been in power since 1978 and life has suffered extremely.

Resources - of all types of good creative energy, talent,
slog, door knock, phone, fax, acts, stunts, LETS credits/Green
dollars (even money) - are urgently required. The CLP is
expert at building up the racist campaigns and calling snap
elections.

Alternative resources should be clearly differentiated from
those intended to empower the ALP and/or the Greens (if they
are still with us).

To get things started I volunteer to provide some interim co-
ordination services for alternatives and propose we establish
*****The Ginger Fund (for solidarity with First People) for
the NT Election*****

Add a bit of healing ginger to your greens (with Labor party
staples) for good health!
