Approved Projects:

Colombia - During the preparatory phase of this project, UNDP
provided technical assistance to improve the socio-economic
conditions of indigenous communities. For the project to be
fully operational, UNDP will help sharpen the management skills
of indigenous community leaders through training in leadership,
planning and administration. The organization will support the
government in formulating policies, designing strategies and
managerial methods. It will also support the communities in
designing projects in the agricultural, environmental and social areas.

UNDP contribution: $137,553. Government cost-sharing: $6,324,404.
UNDP will provide regional consultants for national coordination,
project formulation, environment, credit and food-for-work
management. Consultants in the design of marketing strategies and
management of communal micro-enterprises and legal assistance
will also be provided. Executed by the Ministry of the Presidency
through the National Rehabilitation Plan. Implemented by the
National Rehabilitation Plan and local NGOs. (COL/92/007)
