You may already have this list (based on your message) but a list of the
federally recongized tribes is periodically published in the Federal
Register and updated with later recognitions published individually as the
Recongition Project recognizes formerlly unrecognized tribes. The latest,
albeit non-updated, list is available on the Iowa Indian Defense Network,
the telephone number for which is listed below. Please note that this list
only contains those tribes with whom the federal government maintains a
government-to-government relationship and does not purport to be a list of
all tribes in the United States.
