Hi Sam,

The newsgroup does exist. It is probably the case that your NNTP
site does not carry it. You might just check with your sys. admin.
folks and ask them to start carrying it. Also, you might consider
just using another NNTP site for news reading, ie. by setting
your NNTPSERVER variable to the host.

This NNTP site allows remote access;

sol.ctr.columbia.edu

To post to a newsgroup via email use the following format:

news-newusers-questions@cs.utexas.edu

ie. if you wish to post a message to alt.culture.alaska:

alt-culture-alaska@cs.utexas.edu
