The spiffiest program out there is called Fontographer.
You can create entire fonts easily and cleanly. You can
create the screen bitmaps and the PostScript. You can
do kerning pairs, spacing, leading, etc. You can create
a font that you can install on a macintosh, and use just
like any other font (type/print/etc.)

Since you only have a few characters, you might try and
find someone/place that would let you use this program,
rather than buy it.

The cheapest mail order for buying mac software I know of are
MacConnection (800) 334-4444, and MacWarehouse (800) 255-6227.
