I apologize for my garbled message. I do not have a good connection
to the Internet. I will try to re-enter the last three paragraphs
of the Advertiser story.
.Morris, a member of the Shawnee tribe in his home state of Oklahoma,
added that he understood many Hawaii residents fear the sovereignty
movement will seek to relocate them or force them out of their homes.
.But, he said, "I have met very few indigenous peoples who call for
the expulsion and relocation of non-indigenous people.
.we are not ignorant of the political, social and economic realities
of the world today," he said. "But that doesn't mean that the status
quo is acceptable. And those decisions will have to be made by the
kanaka maoli (indigenous Hawaiians) themselves."
