Asia-Pacific Solidarity - Sarawak was recently initiated by Sarawakians,
with the support of existing local groups and is based in Sarawak.
We strive towards keeping rainforest, indigenous peoples', Human rights and
social avtivists informed of news on and about Sarawak from Sarawak, in a
more regular and systematic manner.
By monitoring local newspapers, as well as disseminating community news and
informations from groups in Sarawak working with the affected indigenous
communities, we hope to present as much information as possible to our
suppoters and concerned people globally.
Presently, due to our limited resources, we are only able to input into and
receive two APC email conferences, namely Rainfor.General and Hr.Indigenous.
We realise that there are many more APC and other conferences in the glocal
email network that are related (ie: rainfor.timber) to the issues here. Due
to the limited conference that we have access to, we ask that whoever has
access to other conferences, please cross-post them to other conferences. At
the same time, as illustated with the message we sent out yesterday
regarding the "Swiss Timber Labelling" message that GP Austria requested
people to look at Rainfor.timber, we request that people post it and any
future campaign info into this conference.
We would like to know if all of you think the information we have provided
so far is of relevance and of value to the rainforest campaigns worldwide.
