Hello everybody
and thank you for all the information on the Big Mountain issue.
I've been reading your postings and some books and articles on the matter and
am now writing an article on it. There are still a few things I would like to
ask.
1) When were the first leases made by the Navajo and the Hopi with an
energy company?
2) I read an article written in the late 1970s that described the Black Mesa
coal mine and some restoration that they begun there. It said that filled
trench was still grey and bare and that the waterpumping done by Peabody
coal was expected to affect other wells in the area. What I would like to
know is what does Black Mesa look like today?
Any help on these questions will be much appreciated.
