I am a grad student and contract faculty at Ball State Univ. in
Muncie, In. There is a posting in the campus news about Native American
Days here on campus and I need some info on one of the speakers.
Specifically; Oowah Nah (chasing bear) who bills herself as
"pipe carrier for the Kiowah Apache Nation" is a keynote speaker
for the Teachers College learning exchange program. Without being
too cynical can I ask---Is this for real???? Can anybody out there
give me some guidance on this one. I have an Anth (cultural) class
that I could have the speech televised in but am really unsure
about the background of this one.. She is slated to speak on
thurs night and I need to make some arrangements to have the speech in my
classroom if I am going to , sooo----- any words of wisdom will be greatly
