PLEASE CROSS POST THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION

The National Center for Recruitment and Retention of Minorities in
Education presents the 8th Annual Conference. The theme for the 1994
Conference is "Local and National Policies that Impact the Recruitment
and Retention of Minorities in Education".

The NCRRME is especially interested in papers that analyze policies and/or
procedures that either worked or failed in the following contexts: social
engineering policies, interaction among government agencies and local
school boards, institutional and university policies, funding incentives
and policy development efforts.

Special interest sessions will be developed based on submitted proposals.
Proposals should contain an abstract which adequately describes the paper/
panel content and should be postmarked no later than 1 November 1993.
The proposals will be evaluated for significance, research design (if
appropriate), thoroughness, clarity and appropriateness to the conference
theme. Three hard copies may be sent to Dr. Deneese Jones, Program Chair,
College of Education, 313 Dickey Hall, University of Kentucky, Lexington,
40506-0017. FAX to Professor Jones at 606-258-1046. Internet address for
proposals is DLJONE01@UKCC.UKY.EDU

Due to budget contraints, it is not possible to offer either an honorarium
or waiver of registration fees to program presenters. The registration
fee is $175 before 15 December and $200 after 15 December. Two or more
persons from the same institution or agency may attend the Conference at
the reduced fee of $160 per person.

The Conference will be held in the Radisson Plaza Hotel on 16-18 January 1994.
