[ This article relayed from the Usenet "soc.culture.native" newsgroup ]

A friend of mine is graduating from a nursing school, and she chose to write
about Native American childbirth. Can anyone out there provide any kind of
information or stories on birthing methods, care for and mothering of
infants, and so on? She's not looking for information that shouldn't be
posted to the Net, such as ceremonial or sacred traditions; simply physical
facts surrounding childbirth in Native culture. She needs five references
so any books that can be recommended that are not written by white *men*
or new-agers would be appreciated. Also, interviews are acceptable
including over the Net. (Daisy, are you listening? Help!!)

Thanks!
