The name of the programme is 'Where the Spirit Lives'- a Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation [CBC] production with no BBC input that I know of.
I am really interested in the reactions of anyone who saw this on the CBC
or on PBS for some work i am doing on cutural appropriation of Native
imagery and aboroiganl subjects in television drama. I'd appreciate your
perspective and would ask you directly but I can't make your e-mial address
work.
> They also ran a follow up titled "Going Back to the
>Blanket". The follow up was a piece on folks who had been sent to a
>school called Spanish in southern Ontario. The point was to come
>together again to try and heal wounds that are still bleeding from
>the soul. Son't trust my memory on this but if you have the time and
>energy to check into it...I hope I have at least the titles correct.
'Spirit Lives ' will be on cassette shortly . if you need details I can
check onthat I could check the title. . RE the follow-up.Could be TVO
Ontario's educational channel- which would be available on cassette. Could
you be thinking of an hour long documentary in the 'fifth estate ' which
looked at Williams lake . Basil Johnson wrote a book about life at Span
ish. If ther has been a drama based on it , I'd love to know more about it.
