I am interested in contacting the Inuit students. I teach Health
Occupations for students interested in health careers in an urban high
school. Our students are nearly all hispanic. I'm not sure they qualify
as aboriginal or indigenous, but some of them do have some knowledge of
Indian ancestry from Mexico. At any rate many of these students have
family members who still adhere to some of the practices of traditional
medicine. Last year we participated in a project of regional folklore by
contributing vignettes concerning "mal de ojo", the evil eye. I would
particularly be interested in the students exchanging info on traditional
practices in medicine.
Also, possibly an elementary school and middle school in our district
would be interested.
