I am in contact through the Diabetes Forum on Compuserve with a Physicians
Assistant who is working on the Hoopa Reservation in Northern California. They
are currently screening for diabetes among the 3,000 or so residents of the res,
and a maker of blood sugar meters has donated 60 meters for their use. They
are finding this helpful, but need quite a few more meters to supply the 206
diabetics they have so far identified with their own meter. In addition, they
expect to find many more diabetics during their screening.

I am hoping that someone on the network can suggest sources of funding for
purchasing these meters, or knows a company that might be able to donate some
more meters for their use. If any of you can offer them some help, please
contact me at my network addresses below. This PA does not have access to
the Internet as yet, and I have told her I will get the information to her.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
