Dear campus activist:

The University Conversion Project (UCP) is a new clearinghouse which
promotes peace activism and investigative journalism on campus. Next
Month, we are producing a special 48-page issue of our bulletin, Study
War No More, on researching and questioning the Right-wing influence
on campus. We are asking for your help.

Below is a list of some of the most common Right-wing attacks on
college campuses nationwide. Incidents such as ripping down posters,
name-calling, death threats, physical attacks, red-baiting and
graffiti have all been seen at campuses like Iowa State University,
University of Texas, Dartmouth College, University of Pennsylvania,
Boston University, etc. We need YOUR descriptions of how Right-wing
groups have disrupted your campus organizing or affected your
university's programs.

The large ultraconservative foundations have launched a systematic
attack on progressive student movements. In their own words, they
have attempted to "capture the ideological high ground" by
funding Right-wing campus newspapers and endowing professorships and
research programs which reflect their political views. As a result,
many students and faculty find obstacles placed in their path by well-
funded rivals crusading to maintain militarism, sexism and
ethnocentrism under the guise of opposition to "political
correctness."

Thank you in advance for telling us about your experience by filling
the survey below. Please COPY it and pass it along to fellow
activists on your campus-- not all student groups may have e-mail
access. If you would like to reserve copies of the publication for
your members (10 or more) at $1.50 each, please let us know.

In peace,

Dalya Massachi
