Since you were not spesific as to which country you are looking for the
information, here are some suggestions:

Call David Haberstitch who heads the Smithsonian Archives (202) 357-3270,
or call Eugene Ostroff at the National Museum of American History (sorry no
number), otherwise the Bettmann Archives in New York will have some thing.
In London you could check with the Warburg Institute,they have a photo graphic
collection, and could point you in other directions. The same is true of the
museums where your friend is staying.
