The Navajo Nation Archaeology Department, a tribally owned cultural
resource management company, has a training program for Native American
anthropology students at Northern Arizona University. Navajo students
can receive tuition assistance from the Navajo Nation. Students work
toward their BA or MA in Anthropology and work 10 to 20 hours a week
doing contract projects on the western Reservation. We are interested
in recruiting students for this program and possibly also for summer
jobs (depending on the size and scope of projects we have at that
time). Our department's Farmington, New Mexico, office is just starting
a similar program in cooperation with Fort Lewis College in Durango,
Colorado. Interested students, or faculty with potentially interested
students, are invited to contact:
Dr. Kelley Hays-Gilpin (KAH2@A1.ucc.nau.edu) and
Dr. Miranda Warburton (MW@A1.ucc.nau.edu)
