I am beginning a research project comparing literacy education
at off reservation boarding schools in the 19th c. with literacy education
at reservation schools today. Does any one have any documents that might be
of value. Does any one have a number for, or an address, for the BIA, and
possibly a contact person?
Also, I am looking for a Native American poet, whose name is either
James Northrup, or James Norton. He was interviewed by Terry Gross
on her program 'Fresh Air' in mid August of 1993. He was educated at
an off reservation boarding school and I would like to communicate with him.
