Much of the material in our newspapers here is syndicated stuff
-- squalid scandals about low morals in high places pushing the
real news into corners, unless there is plenty of bloodshed, to
bring it into the horrors of war category. I am certain that an
Irish newspaper or two would be glad to print some real news if
they could get it directly from Mexico, without having to go to
the cost of sending reporters out there. Perhaps some people in
Mexico, or with some family ties there, might like to have a go
at sending material to some of the principal newspapers on this
side of the pond. I happen to live in Ireland, and these 'phone
and fax nos. are in this country, but I am sure that readers of
other newspapers in Europe would be equally pleased to see some
fresh (unsyndicated) reports from Mexico, as well as from other
areas which feature regularly on NATIVE-L--megwetch to Gary, as
usual. Here's to better times for indigenous peoples everywhere
in 1994, including increased lines of communication between us.
