The term pan-Indian or pan-tribal is often used to refer to senses of political,
cultural, ethnic or other identity among American Indian and Native American
groups that cross tribal political boundary lines. There is an outstanding book
by Stephen Cornell entitled The Return of the Native: American Indian Political
Resurgence that discusses in historical and sociological terms the post-World
War II emergence of pan-Indian political and cultural identities and the
importance of such identities to political movements such as the American Indian
Movement.

Hope this helps!
