If I might be so rude as to clarify the reason for
the request for further information on this obviously
anthropological question.

Many of us, native and not (I am not), are familiar
with the healing nature of Dineh sandpainting and the
sacred and healing power.

This past week, Denver's excessive violence was privileged
to be honored by a group of Bhuddist monks who came specifically
to create the original mandella here in Denver. These monks
have spent the whole week praying and creating this ritual
piece on the fifth floor of the Art Museum. It is being
displayed this weekend, and tomorrow it will be ritually removed
and poured into the Platte River.

The healing nature of both rituals and the impermanence are
certainly similar. However, I think many of us, in this part
of the country would appreciate further information if it is
not disrespectful to impart.
