"President Cleveland apologized in 1893. President Clinton apologized in 1993.
Find out why."

"In mid-January, 1893, armed troops from the U.S.S. Boston landed at Honolulu
in support of a coup d'etat against the constitutional sovereign of the nation
of Hawai'i, Queen Lili'uokalani. The event marked the culmination of a century
of foreign intervention in our islands and was described by U.S. President
Grover Cleveland as 'an act of war.' Today, after another century of
dispossession, we the real people of Hawai'i, the kanaka maoli, are asserting
our right to self determination. We invite you to see Hawaiian history through
Hawaiian eyes." -- (copyright 1993, Na Maka o ka 'Aina)
