Help, help!
I am trying to find information on the role of one James A.
Clifton, an anthropologist, in the hearings that went on about
Chippewa spearfishing in Wisconsin. I am giving a presentation in a
seminar of one of his articles (chapter one of the book _Being and
Becoming Indian_), and am having trouble reconciling what little I
know about his role in the hearings with what he writes. I was
marginaly involved with the spearfishing issue as a witness at the
boat landings, so I also have a personal interest in what he said.
If anybody has any information, I would really appreciate it.
Unfortunately, my presetnation is tommorrow, so anything that reaches
me after 11:30 am EST THursday April 7 is too late for my
presentation, but I'd still like to know about it. Thanks for any
help you can give me.
