Hello to all,

This is coming somewhat late, but I'm told that there are still
places available. The Detroit Institute of Arts is holding a
symposium on April 16, 1994 in conjunction with a current exhibition:
"Art of the American Indian Frontier: The Chandler-Pohrt Collection."
Five Native American scholars and artists will speak about the past and
present of their own tribal art traditions during this all-day
program. Featured speakers will be:

Arthur Amiotte, Lakota artist. "Lakota of the Central Plains:
The Continuing Tradition".

Frank Ettawageshik, Odawa Indian and artist and member of the Little
Traverse Bay Band. "My Father's Business".

Emma I. Hansen, Curator, Plains Indian Museum, Buffalo Bill Historical
Center, Cody Wyoming. "Pawnee: Earth Lodge People of the Plains".

Tom V. Hill, Director, Woodland Indian Cultural Centre, Brantford, Ontario.
"At the World's Rim: Taking our Art to our Cutting Edge".

George P. Horse Capture, Gros Ventre Tribal Scholar. "Gros Ventre of
the Northern Plains".
