Hello Susan,

I serched my -mail boxes, and for some reason don't have, or have never
received your original request. Here are some books which I think you will get
a lot out of, as far as what's important.

"Wisdom's Daughters" Steve Wall, Harper Collins Pub 1993
"Native Heart" Gabriel Horn, New World Pub 1993
"The Way To Rainy Mountain" N. Scott Momaday, UNM Press 1969
"Exiled in the Land of the Free" ed. Oren Lyons & John Mohawk 1992

It's a start off of the top of my head. If you need more, let me know.

Dave

This question and answer brings to mind the fact that we talked a long
time ago about setting up a database of books and other informational
resources which could include brief reviews. I've just been too busy
to work on the project lately, but it still remains an ambition. We got
as far as defining a structure for the database and actually entering
some test data into it.

The idea is that anyone could contribute to the database, and we would
also input the many wonderful lists and reviews sent by folks such as
Lisa Mitten and Steve and Bunny Brock and Duane-Michael De Luca, as well
as what can be culled from online library catalogues which are available
via the Internet. The database could be searched using simple retrieval
commands via electronic mail, based on various criteria (subject, author,
date of publication, etc.)

If anyone out there is interested in this project (especially if you want
to help with it!!), please let me know.
