O'siyo to the Grandfathers and Grandmothers who hear these words!
O'siyo to all people who come together to learn this way of speaking!
O'siyo to all who would help!

I pray all will use this powerful way of spreading our words to help
mend the hoop.
I can tell you I honor a pledge to tell as many as I can reach about
the ways of all the first people. I do this by distributing a news
letter over the Internet called 'Wotanging Ikche'. This was given to
me, and I honor it in the best way I can. It contains news of our
struggles, all our struggles. It tells of the Cree and Innu who struggle
to save their way of being against the powerful politicians who would
build Hydro-Quebec SM-3. It tells of the people of the northwest coast
who wish to keep the forest Spirit gave them. It tells of the Chiapas
in Mexico who will not roll over while their way is "assimilated" in the
name of progress - who's progress?
It also tells of the joy of being.
When I began sending out 'Wotanging Ikche' I only knew it was what I should
do. Now I can tell you I have seen Spirit saw far beyond my poor vision.
A legislator called me to tell me there will be action taken against efforts
to turn part of a rez into a nuclear dump. I have had notes from people
in far distant lands who only now know the "Indian" is not just one group
of stereotypical people, but a nation of nations, each trying to keep its
way. These people now understand enough to care and their voices are heard
by those in Washington and Toronto who care about world opinion.
You can make others aware. You must decide if this is good. I think it
is. I will pray for a good gathering. Maybe some among you would like to
share your thoughts. I offer 'Wotanging Ikche' as a way. There are others
with greater reach that are also sent in a good way.
