If you are interested helping out BEFORE the Big Time, or
Demonstrating, or being a Vendor, please contact the author of this
article of obtain the phone number for the appropriate
person to volunteer your services: Site preparation, including
cutting branches for arbors/sun shades takes place the week before
the event. MAJOR EFFORT July 14 & 15. Call Marty Falkenstein at the
Park if you wish to help (415) 663-1092.
MAPOM members who ACTIVELY help out in some capacity are invited to
stay for the pot-luck dinner which takes place at about 5:30 or 6.
The main dish will be traditionally pit-barbecued venison. You are
expected to bring a major contribution to the event. "Forget
California healthy cuisine--think church picnic" are the exact words
on my info packet. Dancers and others coming from a distance are our
guests. Blessing before the meal; Elders served first. Bring your
own seating. Warm jacket for the evening. Children, out-of-state and
out-of country guests are welcome. Absolutely No alcohol or smoking
on the site.
