JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL INDIAN POLICY CENTER

The National Indian Policy Center, a research institute at The George
Washington University in Washington, D.C., is searching for a director to
start between Nov. 1 and Dec. 1, 1994. The Director oversees a research
program on issues related to the development of public policy affecting
American Indians, operation of a data and information clearinghouse, and
coordination of forums and symposia. The Director administers the institute
and is responsible for fund-raising. Knowledge and research experience is
necessary on American Indian issues, as evidenced by an advanced degree
(i.e., masters, Ph. D, or other) or a record of excellence in research and
analysis regarding American Indian public policy; also necessary is
demonstrated experience and knowledge about working with Indians.
Candidates should also have a successful record in raising funds for
research or service in Indian affairs, familiarity with the history and
present status of Federal-Indian relations, and at least five years of
management experience in an organization with more than five employees.
Salary depends on qualifications and experience.
