As Gary has made you all aware I was recently taken ill with
spinal meningitis and was in the hospital for quite awhile. As Murphy's
law would predict, I became ill only hours after I took over moderation
duties for NatChat and Native-L. As I am on the mend now, I am going to
try and take another swing at moderation. Before I do this, I want to
take a chance to say THANK YOU to all of you for your support and the
many kind get well messages that flooded in from everywhere. I truely
feel welcomed in my new role as moderator and will try to live up to
kind words and faith that you all have shown towards me.
Also, I want to publicly thank Gary for sailing in and saving me
upon my untimely disappearance. As most of you know Gary devotes a good
share of his life to seeing that the NativeNet is able to continue. If
there are any hearty individuals out there who a have a bit of free time
(I know hearty individuals rarely have any free time <Grin>), there are a
number of tasks that could be taken over in order to give Gary a bit of
breathing room and even a bit of free time. Contact either me or Gary if
you are intrested or know of someone who is.
Lastly, I wanted to give some e-mail addresses and such that might make
it easier for people to contact me. My NativeNet mail comes to
Jay.Brummett@m.cc.utah.edu BUT, you will reach me faster at my main
account, so I would try JAY@SLCPL.SLCPL.LIB.UT.US first. I will tend to
read this account several times as day, where the other account address, I
