Miss ....... and Native Ceremonies

I am not a follower of any of the Miss (you fill in the blank) contests
but there was a comment on the news this morning. I didn't get to here
all of it but apparently some contestant in a beauty pagent is using a
burial ceremony as a dance routine. She is calling it "dances with
wolves" and is claiming to be 1/8 native.

I read an AP article in my local paper, SL-Trib
that stated that the contestant is Miss SD, and
that despite protests she intends to do a modern
dance routine under a "tribal burial platform".
She claims to be "part Indian". -Jay

I would like to know if anyone has more information on this and is
there any way that a formal pr that a formal protest can be sent to
the officials asking that she be advised to cease this sacraligious
display or with draw from the contest.
