The non-profit FOR MOTHER EARTH based in Belgium is looking
for information concerning nuclear developments and Indigenous
People.
Many people are becoming aware that the nuclear age has not
only drastic economic, ecological and medical effects.
Indigenous People worldwide have been affected disproportiona-
tely by nuclear testing programmes, uranium mining and more
and more by its heritage nuclear waste!
FOR MOTHER EARTH wishes to publicize a comprehensive brochure
with fact-sheets about the violations of Indigenous People's
landrights by many governments and the nuclear industry.
We aim to make fact-sheets for every single Indigenous group
which is affected by nuclear developments. Please sent us any
info you have. Also maps and pictures are welcome.
We want to present the information to the media on the kick-
off for the Walk across Europe for a Nuclear-Free World.
This walk will start on january 12th 1995 in Brussels.
If you know of any Indigenous representatives who could testi-
fy in Brussels on January 12th, please let us know.
The walk will end nine months and 5.500km later in Moscow, on
October 12th 1995 - the International Day of Solidarity with
Indigenous People.
FOR MOTHER EARTH organised the Walk across America in 1992. An
average of 100 people walked from New York City to the Nevada
Nuclear Test Site, which is land from the Western Shoshone
Indians, according to the Treaty of Ruby Valley.
