(Note: This message is being passed on to you via this address. I do
not have direct knowledge of the situation but am acting as a conduit for
information.)

The election scheduled for Saturday, October 8, 1994 at the Stockbridge -
Munsee reservation in Bowler, Wi. will be held as dictated by the
constitution and tradition. The election is for choising a new chair and
council members.

The current chair has closed the building and locked all the doors.
However, the elders and many citizens want everyone to know - THERE WILL
BE AN ELECTION. So, if you are a registered and voting member of that
tribe, please vote on Saturday.

Also, the elders are requesting assistance in sending the message to the
BIA to stay our of tribal business. Additionally, because of the very
tense situation that has developed at the reservation over the past few
weeks, they request the assistanc of any AIM members that can assist in
maintaing the peace - the chair fired all the police force and the people
are without protection.

If you cannot assist in either of these needs, please provide your
prayers and other means you may have for maintiang peace and returning
harmony to the Stockbridge-Munsee people.

thank you - please address all correspondance to me and I will relay the
information by FAX to the folks on the reservation.
