This is *NOT* an endorsement of any outfit, I just know they exist. If
anybody knows of other sources, let me know and I'll add them to the above
list.
In addition, I develop fonts also. Most are TrueType for Windows, but other
formats I should be able to do, though I haven't tried them all, are:
o Macintosh TrueType fonts
o PC PostScript Type 1 fonts
o Macintosh PostScript Type 1 fonts
o NeXT PostScript Type 1 fonts
o PC PostScript Type 3 fonts
o Macintosh PostScript Type 3 fonts (with suitcase)
o Nimbus Q fonts
Fonts I can convert to the above (i.e., read, and write in a different format)
include:
o Windows TrueType fonts
o Macintosh TrueType fonts
o PC PostScript Type 1 fonts (from any vendor)
o CorelDraw fonts
o LaserMaster fonts
o Macintosh PostScript Type 1 fonts (from any vendor)
o NeXT PostScript Type 1 fonts
o PostScript Type 3 fonts in major formats (PC, Mac, Bitstream, etc.)
o Nimbus Q fonts
o Intellifont FAIS fonts
If you can buy a font already made, it is much faster than if I develop one
from scratch. (Let me know where you got it.)
However, if the font you need is just not available anywhere, get back in
touch with me, and I'll make you one. I do fonts for *INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES*
free of charge out of the goodness of my heart (in addition, there isn't
much commercial demand for exotic fonts in unusual languages -- just the
biggies: English, Spanish, Russian, French, etc. :-( ). What I would need
to produce a font is a picture of what the characters look like -- good
penmanship counts here -- and how you want they keyboard mapped (i.e., what
key do I put each character on; SHIFTed (like uppercase); or unSHIFTed (like
lowercase), etc.). Of course, any donations would be gladly accepted, but
I also know that, generally speaking, anybody using a font for an indigenous
language is probably not going to have much money, hence the free font work.
I know I enjoy (if that's the right word) studying indigenous languages,
and I don't have much money (says wife: "Why don't you get a *REAL* job.").
