Each May, Amanaka'a Amazon Network coordinates the Week, with the
support of several environmental, human rights, and Native
American organizations. The Week brings together Amazon leaders,
scientists, human rights advocates and their allies for
discussions, cultural events, screenings and presentations. It is
a unique opportunity to hear directly from the peoples of the
forest themselves about their strategies for sustainable
development and the defense of their ways of life.
